Facebook, Twitter and Your Venue

27 Jul

FACETIME was such a blast! We had such a great turn out and announced the winner of our Facebook Ticketing Giveaway.

Congratulations to…Scott Kelly of Black Dog Promotions! He has won $2,000 worth of Facebook Ticketing – woohoo!

With all of the social media covered at FACETIME and the 83rd Annual IAVM VenueConnect Conference & Trade Show, we thought it would be great to post the webinar we had last month, as well as provide some insight on why social media is beneficial for venues, ticketing companies and really most businesses alike.

So…how many social media sites are out there today?

TONS. Really. Here is a whole list from wikipedia, complete with description, Alexa ranking and number of users. Facebook¬†alone has more than 500 million active users – meaning 1 in every 13 people on Earth has an account. What better way to reach customers than through their social front door?¬†Twitter is catching up with Facebook, with over 300 million registered accounts. Providing real-time posts, Twitter receives about 155 million tweets a day. Send an update, announce new tickets, ask a question…Twitter lets you give short, concise “tweets” that reach your followers and those browsing the site.

Watch our webinar to see more about Facebook and what it can do for your venue. Watch out for our Social Media Toolkit in the next few days, which will give you the ins-and-outs of Twitter and connecting with your patrons!
