“All I Want for Christmas is…” Bieber
Shhh…can you hear that? It’s the collective sounds of millions of girls screaming about the leak of Justin Bieber’s holiday album, Under the Mistletoe. He’s already gracing the cover of the latest Billboard issue (out October 31). The pop-heartthrob has teamed up with a few famous artists to cover holiday favorites such as “The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire),” “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” and “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” The singer duets with Usher, Boyz II Men and Busta Rhymes. While those artists may not be your cup of tea, the album is still a smooth holiday tribute. Continue reading 

Theatre Blogging Provides Harsh Criticisms

After our webinar on blogging for the ticketing business yesterday (which had a fantastic turnout!) we were excited to come across an article from The Guardian discussing theatre bloggers. The author posed a good question: “Why are theatre bloggers so angry? Can the furious be fair critics?” As you may already know, we have quite a few theatre clients at TicketForce, and given our passion for social media – this article caught our attention.

The article delved into the population of angry internet dwellers and pointed out that negative and angry critics seem to be more apparent in theatre blogging and reviewers than other communities. Continue reading

Ticket Scalpers Scalp Winnipeg Jets Tickets

The Winnipeg Jets hockey team has been selling game tickets like hotcakes. TicketNews reports scalpers have apparently been taking advantage of this fact, which has led the team to recently announce that it has cancelled an undisclosed number of season ticket accounts for “activity regarding the re-sale of tickets.” The team provides reasoning behind this move reporting that the account holders acted “contrary to the provisions of account holders’ Ticket Purchase Agreement with the Jets and Provincial law in Manitoba.” Continue reading
