Friday #musicwrap: Pop, Shock and Suspense!

17 Jun

Friday #musciwrapThis week’s wrap up will leave you in anxiety and anticipation.

British singer Joss Stonewas nearly the victim of a murder plot. Two unidentified men were taken into custody when their suspicious-looking vehicle was seen near the premises of Stones residence. In the vehicle were swords, forensic-style overalls, a layout of Stone’s house and a body bag. It isn’t known whether or not Stone was home at the time of the arrest but credit can be given to Stone’s neighbors for notifying police of the suspect’s vehicle. Luckily, no one was harmed.

To brighten the mood, you should check out Katy Perry’s music video, “Last FridayNight. This will be her 5th single off her album ‘Teenage Dream”.  The video itself debuted a few days ago and don’t be alarmed if you see that the video clocks in at over 8 minutes long. The song is integrated into a storyline that surely any teenager of the 80s would enjoy. There are quite a few cameos throughout the video…can you spot them all? After viewing the video, let us know what you think of it below!

Lady Gaga’s latest hit single, “Edge of Glory,” has gotten the music video treatment as well, premiering on last night’s episode of “So You Think You Can Dance”. The video features E Street Band sax player Clarence Clemons, who suffered a stroke this past weekend. While the video isn’t as raunchy as Gaga’s past spectacles, you should definitely expect a good dosage of Gaga’s vision and sex appeal. Let us know what you think of this video in the comments below!

Jennifer Lopez may or may not return to next season’s American Idol. In the tradition ofmentioning the show in every other #musicwrap, the pop idol say’s she’s “on the fence” about returning to the show. She only signed a one-year contract, which was reported to be worth $12 million. She cites that her schedule has become increasingly busier as she is getting back into the music industry as well as working on another competition show, Q’Viva! (The Chosen)with husband Marc Anthony.

How did you feel about Lopez’s presence on American Idol as a judge? Are you crossing your fingers she’ll return or hoping her chair is replaced? Let us know below!
